Bodie is a goast town in the High Sierra Nevada Mountain range about 75 miles South East of Lake Tahoe. Once a thriving Gold Mining town in 1859 it is now in a state of "arrested decay". Bodie is often the coldest place in Calif due to its altitude of 8,400 feet and exposed plateau. A great place to photograph, however be sure to call ahead to find out if the road is open.
